back with another transfer update: i left chuy and my sweet hermana aranda. 'twas sad to say goodbye to the people i've loved for 6 months!! hands-down the hardest despedida was mamita and Adrian, the members we ate lunch with almost every day 😢mamita and i traded earrings (she gave me butterflies!) and then cried a little bit. chuy's always gonna have a special place in my heart❤️‍🩹

andddd now i'm in an área called La Paz IN A TRIO!! my comps are hermana ramirez and hermana saucedo and we are having a blast, we come home exhausted every day. 

some things that have happened since i've been here:

- general conference!! was so good!! we were able to watch with our friends and it was so cool to see how every session responded exactly to their specific doubts or needs. our friend Mateo was wondering if God really exists and is our Father so elder philip's testimony hit him hard, he looked over at us like "wooooow" here's the link if you wanna read the talk:

-hit 1 year in the mission!! feel like i'm in a hole of time and space and it's weird. but i'm happy to be happy here! 

- learned some more vos because hna saucedo is from argentina and occasionally

uses slang, we walk through the streets shouting "mujerrrrrr ya te dije"

- had a multizone conference with the church leader in charge of our part of South America, Elder Costa. he talked to us about the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and taught us how to use it more in our lives, loved it. THEN my comps and i had to do an impromptu practice of inviting someone to church IN FRONT OF HIM. and half of our mission. very scary but kind of fun.

- HAD 9 FRIENDS AT CHURCH LAST SUNDAY!! pretty much all the people we hoped would come did!! i'm super excited for a part-member family that's been taught by missionaries for a year, they're starting to progress towards baptism! they have 4 little kids that i absolutely adore. 

- please pray for maria, mateo, and the rivero family!

 hey guys!! i'm still out here in chuy, finishing the training of my comp! the bishop's new favorite joke is that i'm just a member of the ward, every week he sends love to my inactive parents. here are some things that have happened since my last email:

○ had a little birthday!! 20 yeauhh!! normal missionary day but started and ended with my district and the members making me feel super special🎂🎂

○ we had a pioneer activity in the ward and i participated by baking bread for the fist time💁‍♀️ but it was actually super cool, afterwards a couple that a member had brought was sharing with us how they'd felt a different special feeling in the church, the wife began crying as she told us how she'd known something was missing from her life. it was really special to be able to explain to them that this feeling is the Holy Ghost, now they have baptismal dates with the other hermanas in our district so pretty soon they'll be able to feel the Holy Ghost all the time!

○ said bye to our last district Martina and the Gringos with sunglasses and an epic funeral

○ had some miracles with ppl approaching us recently! a young girl anyelina came to church with a family friend who invited her, she's the sweetest and i love teaching her, we're hoping she'll be able to get baptized next saturday. then a few pdays ago my comp and i were shopping for dresses when a girl working in the store approached us and asked us if we were from the church in front of the plaza. she said she'd always been curious about us because we seemed like we had something she didn't. now we've had a couple charlas with her and she's so great!!

○ sheets of rain pouring from the sky, people are like "chicaaas what are you doing out in the rain??!! están locas??!!" And we're like "if you let us in your house then we won't have to be in the rain😁😁"

○ I LOVE URUGUAY!! i love that ppl fight over soccer teams and always make tortas fritas when it rains and carry their mate and termos on crowded buses and make weird hand signs and ride on horses in the streets!!!! Mosiah 18:30 says "the waters of Mormon, the forest of Mormon, how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever." And that puts into words pretty well how i feel about this little country!

 hey guys!! here's my news:

-stayed in chuy!!! its the first time i've been in an área more than two transfers and i love it, it feels like home. new district is so presh but i miss hna fife🥲- i'm training this transfer! i did puke a little 

when i found out but i'm all good now. my comp is hermana aranda from argentina and she's so cute, she teaches me lyrics to Shakira songs and lets me know when someone's cussing us out. also picks me flowers🥹🌷

- one of our friends bought highlighters to mark her book of mormon!!!!

- last week i went like 4 days without eating oatmeal which was a récord i think

- i have conquered fear. not really but i talked to a sweet lady in a bus stop and then remembered that i used to struggle even talking to the ppl who sat by me in class. moroni 8:16 says that perfect love casteth out all fear and i really feel like the love i've gained for the ppl in my área and for Christ is helping me be more bold, still awko sometimes but a quien le importa, growth!!!!!

my dear beloved

 hey guys!!! some things that have happened since my last email:

-my bolivian roommate learned how to say "my dear beloved" and now everytime we leave the house she says "chou my dear beloveds". so cute🫶🫶

-elder suarez visited our mission! i got to shake his hand!!!! he talked to us about urgency and how we are developing spiritual resilience that will last us the rest of our lives. it was so cool to feel the authority and love radiating from him

- we came to the realization that uruguay is really quite close to antarctica and the weather feels like it. its a humid cold that attacks and enters every pore 😁😁

- got to stay in a hotel in montevideo to do migraciones, felt boujee 

- weeee are the champiooonss, uruguay won a really big worldwide soccer tournament 🤘🤘

-the members here are the best, a few of my favs are blanca (93 yr old who sweetly bullies our friends into accepting the gospel) and eliana (who has a glass she will break when i get married, i got it for her bc the other glass was broken by unfortunate and accidental contact with my forehead)

My testimoy of God's love for and awareness of us grows every day! I love you guys!

updates

 hey guys!!

i'm still here in Chuy WITH MY SAME COMP which is so fun and so out of character for my mission president!! 

But a lot has happened, here are some things i love about my area and some things i don't love quite as much:

☆don't love:

-macumba: black magic practiced in brazil that involves animal sacrifices and luring people with food?? I dont really know that much about it but we walked past a sacrificed dog one time and that was really horrible.

-our house is infested with worms

-just lots of bugs overall. one time i was in the middle of bearing my testimony to our friend when my comp just started screaming and frantically pointing at my back. she started swatting me and i saw that the biggest beetle i have ever seen had fallen on me :) 

☆ LOVE

-lots of acai here and i'm addicted

-living with 4 hermanas! i have so much fun talking with them and trying to help them bake stuff! 

-our recent converts!! last transfer i was really able to see how the gospel changes people's lives and shapes them into more joyful people. we've seen amazing changes in our friends blanca and monica, in their process of conversion they've become so much happier! they smile more, they use softer voices with their loved ones, they sleep easier, they're more loving and open. literally unrecognizable from our first visits with them. and then we've had other friends that had these huge dramatic miracles where the answer to their prayers was just right in front of their faces, and we were so sad and confused why these friends didn't progress. but i've learned that the real miracle of the gospel is the little changes that Christ works in us until we become better people, more like Him.

 helloooo my dearest people

Transfers happened!! I'm in an área called chuy thats HALF IN BRAZIL. So on top of spanish i'm hearing portugaise. I really really love it! I'm with the sweetest comp, hermana fife and we've been working hard and having so much fun together! 

Also happy late easter!! Matthew 28:5-8 is bomb!!

what's up guys

big news from like 3 weeks ago: i got transferred! My new area is called Lomas de Solymar and if that doesn't sound like a kingdom from a children's fantasy book i don't know what does.

My comp and i are both new in lomas and we're the first hermanas they've had in like 20 yrs, which we found out when they gave us a round of applause after we walked in to a ward dinner. The ward is really great, there's a ton of youth who are excited ab missionary work and really willing to come to lessons with us, super rare. Also this area is right on the beach which is a win. 

I'm getting way more comfortable with spanish, this week a half-deaf woman thought i was from Uruguay!! I was immensely flattered.

If you haven't watched the Book of Mormon video for 3 Nephi 17 you really should, it's very precious. It really communicates Christ's love and mercy and joy and just wow it's really good.
